How We Do it
Accessible Programming
For 27 years Arts and Jazzfest NYC has been providing public access to Jazz through public concerts, events, and educational programming. Our events are grounded in diverse accessibility -- we believe that Jazz is engaging and inspiring for all people, and through our connection to Jazz and each other, we make the world a better place!
Supporting Local Artists
Based out of the birthplace of Jazz itself, Arts and Jazzfest NYC is dedicated to supporting local and upcoming artists. We compensate our talented musicians and production crews at market rate, we provide open submissions for local artists and performers to join events, and we provide educational youth programming to develop the next generation of creators!
Emphasizing Diversity
Jazz is based in freedom, improvisation, and redefinition of the rules. We embody this as an organization through emphasis and promotion of diverse community. Through our programming we build diverse community.

Our Team
Gwendolyn Black, Founder
Gwen Black is an award winning visual artist, event producer, curator, educator, storyteller and arts activist. Ms. Black has over 37 years experience organizing events and curating exhibitions. Ms. Black has been a creative force in the arts advocating and presenting the visual arts & jazz music citywide which is shown for by her inclusion in the Schneps Manhattan Power List 2025.
Jacob Greenblatt, Public Coordinator
Jacob Greenblatt is an artist, educator, and community member. He has experience teaching preschool, specialized arts programs, and building community relations for nonprofits. When he is not working Jacob is a passionate chef, runner, and drawer. He finds reciprocity in his work and art.
